Citizens' Ambulance Service

Established in 1964, Citizens’ Ambulance Service (CAS) provides emergency medical services (EMS) and non-emergency ambulance and van transportation to residents of White Township. Known for its excellent patient care and decades of experience, CAS has an agreement with White Township to provide all EMS services within the township

Pennsylvania STate Police

The Pennsylvania State Police provides 24/7 law enforcement services in White Township from their barracks at 35 Fenton Road. Troopers patrol more than 150 miles of roads across the township’s 40+ square miles, responding to emergencies and ensuring public safety. The Board of Supervisors thanks the State Police for their dedicated service to our community.

Indiana Fire Association

Most of White Township receives fire protection through a contract with the Indiana Fire Association (IFA), which also serves Indiana Borough, the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) campus, and parts of Armstrong and Rayne Townships. Founded in 1878, the IFA is the largest fire department in Indiana County and operates as a combination department, primarily staffed by volunteers. The department maintains two stations, one in Indiana Borough and one in White Township, to serve the community efficiently.

Chris Anderson, Township Manager, serves as White Township’s Emergency Management Coordinator, implementing the Emergency Operations Plan. The Indiana County Emergency Management Agency (ICEMA) provides countywide support and training, helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural or human-made emergencies.
