White Township has received the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Bureau of Forestry’s review of the White Township Stewardship Plan. Their comments and recommendations are provided below.
Since adopting the 2008 White Township Comprehensive Plan, White Township has followed a clear vision focused on strategic investment, responsible growth, and community enhancement. That plan guided key initiatives, including upgrades to Kennedy-King Park, the Max Park Dog Park, and the Hoodlebug Trail Extension, along with important updates to land use regulations, traffic planning, and stormwater infrastructure.
As community needs evolved, the Township released the 2020 Priorities, updating the original plan. Building on that foundation, the Township has now completed the 2026 Comprehensive Plan Update. Developed with input from by the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, Steering Committee, Township staff, and the community, the new plan outlines current priorities and provides a framework for future projects and improvements.
The 2026 update addresses emerging challenges and opportunities, including infrastructure demands, development pressures, open space preservation, and changing patterns in how people live and work. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft plan and share their feedback as the Township continues shaping its vision for the future. Comments can be emailed to wtinfo@whitetownship.org or mailed to 950 Indian Springs Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
